In the closest Superbike race in Auto Club Speedway history, Ben Spies again edged teammate Mat Mladin at the finish line for his second straight win in the AMA Suzuki Superbike Championship.  Spies bested Mladin by .011 seconds to break the previous record of .014 seconds set in 2002.

The win was Spies second of the season and the sixth of his career at the Auto Club Speedway.  Rockstar Makita Suzuki teammate Tommy Hayden again finished in third as the Suzuki team took all three spots on the podium for the second straight day.

The afternoon’s AMA Superstock race was won by Jake Holden while Ben Bostrom was victorious in the AMA Supersport race to close out the weekend.
